
bulldozer 推土機
a heavy vehicle with a large blade in front, used for pushing earth and stones away and for making areas of ground flat at the same time.
ex: Already bulldozers had ploughed out roads to it through the forest.

excavator 怪手; 挖土機
a large, powerful machine with a container connected to a long arm, used for digging up the ground.
ex: They are made by the ashes that have been dug out by the excavators and piled here.

forklift 堆高機
a vehicle with two bars in the front for moving and lifting heavy goods.
ex: He put himself through college by operating a forklift at night.

missile 導彈
a flying weapon that has its own engine so that it can travel a long distance before exploding at the place that it has been aimed at.
ex: a missile launcher導彈發射器
ex: Missile attacks on the capital resumed at dawn.

torpedo 魚雷
a long, thin bomb that travels underwater in order to destroy the ship at which it is aimed.
ex: No one on the ship saw the torpedo coming, not even the men on watch.

table d'hote 套餐
food that is served in a restaurant as a complete meal at a fixed price but with little choice of dishes.

à la carte 單點
choosing separate foods in a restaurant rather than having a complete meal.
ex: You get more choices if you order à la carte.
